Europe Biobank Week in collaboration with BBMRI-ERIC 2016

Europe Biobank Week was the first joint conference of ESBB and BBMRI-ERIC in Vienna, from the 13th to 16th September, 2016, and brought together 682 conference participants (thereof 521 delegates, 161 vendors and 17 patient organisations). In the course of four days, the conference offered educational sessions and knowledge sharing in parallel sessions on innovative concepts and ideas for biobanking, putting patients into the centre of the health innovation process, data in biobanking, building bridges through biomarkers, quality management, biobanking for environmental and biodiversity research. 

Conference theme: “Biobanking for Health Innovation”

Sessions included:   Biobanks engaging the public/society, Biobanking in the spotlight – International standards and future perspectives, ‘Companion diagnostics: How can biobanks support their development?, Networking across European medical societies for enhancing translational medicine, ‘Biobanks and personalized medicine: Clinical trials and innovation.
