ESBB Membership
Join a vibrant community of biobanking professionals across the EMEA region.
The ESBB membership period is 12 months from the 1st of January of that year. Your application will be reviewed by the ESBB Executive Board. You should receive a response to your application within 5 working days. If you have any questions, please contact us via the form here.
Individual Membership
Non-profit Individual Membership is for individuals interested in all aspects of biobanking, including biopreservation science, biobank management, quality assurance, informatics, automation, ethical, legal, regulatory and social issues.
Benefit
- Access to an interactive community of biobanking professionals, strengthened by annual or regional face-to-face meetings, working groups, task forces and webinars.
- Substantial discounts on ESBB meeting registration fees (e.g. annual and regional meetings).
- Full access to ESBB Members Area.
- Access to ESBB newsletter.
- Opportunity to join and form ESBB working groups, tasks forces and special interest groups.
- Eligibility to join ESBB programme committee which provides the opportunity to plan events at the ESBB annual meetings.
- Eligibility to run for office in ESBB elections of President, Treasurer, Secretary General and Council Members.
- Eligibility to vote in ESBB elections.
Annual Fee:
- Standard: €150/year*
*Discounted fees (€45/year) for students, unemployed, LIMIC country, and patient representatives)
Biobank & Academic Institution Membership
Non-Profit Biobank & Academic Institution Membership is available to the following types of organisation: Biobanks & Academic Institutions, Patient Organisations, Museums, Botanic Gardens, Zoos and other Enviro-Bio Biobanks.
Benefit
- All benefits of Individual Membership for each delegate.
- Listing on ESBB website (optional).
- Access to and visibility on the institutional member profiles and landscape map in the members-only section of the ESBB website.
- Eligibility for job postings on the ESBB website.
- Eligibility to participate in ESBB consortia for project and grant applications and in (biospecimen- and data-driven) ESBB research projects.
- Eligibility to use the ESBB logo on the website and printed materials of the organisation.
Annual Fee:
- Standard: €300/year* which includes 2 delegates
- Additional delegates: €55/per delegate (up to 8 delegates)
*Fees are reduced (€120/year for the membership and €22/per additional delegate)for the following Non-Profit organizations: Non-profit organisations in LMIC countries; Patient Organisations; Museums, Botanic Gardens, Zoos and other Enviro-Bio Biobanks.
Corporate Membership (Companies & Industry)
Corporate membership is available to the following types of organisation: Vendor companies marketing products to biobanks, Biotechnology companies, Pharmaceutical companies, Diagnostics companies, Companies with other business than the above.

Annual Fee:
- Small Company (<11 employees): €300/year with 2 delegates
- Medium Company (11 – 50 employees): €600/year with 4 delegates
- Large Company (>50 employees): €1200/year with 8 delegates
